THE RED ROOM

What the heck is the Red Room??

Basically, I have way too many characters that could be considered Red knockoffs or derivatives, so I'm planning just to note them all here, so they all can be compared in one place.

The comparisons

Note: I'm listing everyone in creation order, AKA the order they appear in the OC list, since that's the common sorting order I'm using for this.

~2 degrees of separation
Only counts if you consider Grey to be a derivative of Red
Honda ← Grey (FNF:HL) ← Red
Started as a Lived!Grey OC, then developed his backstory more
1 degree of separation
Topaz ← Red (+ Leaf)
Created for Pokemon Distortion and takes elements of Red's + Leaf's designs to make a GNC PC
2 degrees of separation
Only counts if you consider Steven to be a derivative of Red
Reed ← Steven (FNF:HL) ← Red
Made when I wanted to make OCs of Mike and Steven. The story is different, and I'll add it to this website when I do
1-2 degrees of separation
Dream → Adam ← G!Red (FNF:HL) ← Red
So, when I was creating Pan and Reed, I had the idea to OC-ify G!Red as well. He was just a zombie, nothing special. Then I got a dream about a disheveled Red travelling and getting lost in Johto, so I changed his looks to be closer to the dream version. Still a hateful bastard though.
1-2 degrees of separation
Only counts if you consider Steven to be a derivative of Red
Pearl → GODRED ← Steven (FNF:HL) ← Red
Really, the only connection to Steven is his looks. GODRED's backstory was recently added, and is influenced by my playthrough of Pokémon Pearl
1 degree of separation
Dream → Rocket!Red ← Red
Had a dream about Red running Team Rocket; no other similarities other than appearance

Notes

Good LORD, most of these guys draw back to FNF:HL o_o;;

Like, even if there's origins outside of FNF:HL (e.g., Steven wasn't made for FNF:HL), they still reference specifically the versions that appear in FNF:HL.

Out of 18 characters, 6 of them are Red derivatives. That's a 1:3 ratio.

... I don't know what point I'm trying to make here, if any. I think I just kind of wanted to see the influences for each character.

I should do this kind of thing in-depth for all my characters: talk about their origins and how they've developed away from them, because some of them are developed to be distinct.
